Frequently Asked Questions
Because most therapy works with the conscious mind. TRTP™ (The Richards Trauma Process) works where the pattern actually lives — in the unconscious and the nervous system. Understanding why you feel a certain way doesn't change the nervous system's response. TRTP™ does.
You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support. If you're regularly anxious, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself — and it's affecting your life or wellbeing — that's enough. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning individuals who've been quietly struggling for years.

No. TRTP™ doesn't require you to relive or recount painful memories in detail. The process works with your unconscious and nervous system directly — which is also why it's gentler and faster than traditional talk therapy.
Not at all. Trauma isn’t only about major life-threatening events — it’s also about the smaller distressing experiences that left your nervous system and body feeling unsafe or on edge, feelings of helplessness, anxiety or fear - even if you can’t pinpoint the one specific event.
As Gabor Mate says "Trauma is not only what happens to you, it's what happens inside of you, as a result of what happens to you. And often, what happens inside of you is that you are alone with it".
Its also about what didn't happen, the emotional support, care or affection that wasn't present. If stress, self-doubt, overwhelm, depression or anxiety is holding you back, trauma-aware coaching is right for you.
Yes - Online sessions can be just as effective as in-person sessions.
It’s time-efficient and convenient, especially for busy individuals who appreciate the comfort of their own home.
It also offers privacy and flexibility, allowing you to choose how and when you access support. If you’re unsure, try a session — you might be pleasantly surprised by how well it works for you.
Yes, I am a registered member of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), which requires professional standards and appropriate insurance.
Traditional psychotherapy often involves exploring past events in depth and typically provides longer-term, ongoing support.
The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP®) is different because it:
Gets faster results – TRTP is created to be completed in 3 steps.
No Reliving Trauma – There is no need for the traumatic events to be retold.
Lasting Impact – TRTP has been created to resolve trauma rather than simply manage the symptoms.
The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP) is completed in 3-4 sessions. It's designed to resolve trauma by removing the negative emotional charge associated with past distressing events.
In contrast, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for PTSD generally involves 12–20 sessions focused on symptom management through changing thought patterns.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) usually consists of 6–12 sessions per single traumatic event aimed at trauma resolution through reprocessing distressing memories.
Compared with these, TRTP is shorter and structured often means a lower out-of-pocket cost overall. TRTP Clinic | Resolving Trauma
While I’m not currently registered for NDIS funding, I’d be happy to discuss private session options if that’s helpful.
Trauma-aware coaching is not currently covered by medicare rebate.
Your wellbeing and safety are my highest priority.
TRTP™ (The Richards Trauma Process) is not crisis support or a replacement for medical or psychological care.
If you are experiencing active suicidal thoughts, severe mental health symptoms, or require diagnosis or clinical treatment, I encourage you to seek support from a GP, psychologist, psychiatrist, or a crisis service first.
If during our work together you disclose active suicidal intent, we will pause and I will support you to access appropriate professional care.
Once you feel stable and supported, TRTP™ can be a powerful next step in your healing and personal growth journey.
